Digital Handbook for your Palm
|
- Summary The Digital Handbook can be installed on your Palm or
Palm-compatible handheld. It includes the complete schedule including presenters' information and
session descriptions. You can browse the schedule by Time & Day, Presenter and Track.
- Required software and hardware You must be able to synch your
Palm with your computer. Palm OS versions 3.0 and newer are supported. The system has been tested
on Windows but should also work on Apple computers

First Time Installation
- Step 1 Install the Plucker e-book application Download
the two files. When you download the files, your Palm desktop should recognize the file
types and ask you if you want to install the files. The answer is 'yes.'

Hot-Synch your Palm and the application should be installed. (The Hot-Synch
operation will take awhile.)
- Step 2 Install the Digital Handbook file Download the
Digital Handbook file itself. download file
Hot-Synch your Palm again and the handbook should be installed. (The Hot-Synch
operation will also take awhile.)
- Try it out! Using your Palm, go to your 'Home' screen.
Start the "Plucker" application. If you don't see it, make sure your Categories are
set to 'all.' Once you've started the Plucker application you should see the 'Limmud NY'
file. Click on the file name to see the front page of the Digital Handbook

- Problems? If you run into problems, please consult your
local computer guru, a teenager, etc. Possible issues to check for: do you have enough
free memory on your Palm? Were the files downloaded and installed into your Palm? Did you
check the HotSynch log file?

Updating the Handbook
- New versions of the handbook We plan to update the
Digital Handbook once a week until the conference. To install a
new version, follow only step 2, above, to download the most current Digital Handbook.
